For kids, parents, and even adults looking for a bright start to their day, nothing gets the morning moving quite like a little bit of Bluey magic – it’s the perfect pick-me-up, far more energizing than a bowl of wheat bisks.

Fans of the Heeler family are starting to worry that their favorite show might be coming to an end after season three, as rumors start to spread.

The release of the new episode, “The Sign,” has only intensified these fears, leaving viewers wondering if this is the final goodbye.

Unlike the usual seven-minute episodes, this special runs for a full 28 minutes, making it a major departure from the norm.

The heartfelt episode explores themes like dealing with change and accepting things we can’t control, as the Heelers face the emotional challenge of moving away from their home and starting fresh in a new city.

Bluey finds it difficult to accept the idea of leaving, and the episode takes us through her emotional journey as she learns to let go.

If that doesn’t hint at a potential series finale, we’re not sure what would.

So, is this the end of fresh episodes for fans, or can we look forward to even more quirky adventures ahead?

Is Season 3 the Final Chapter for Bluey?

No need to worry just yet—Bluey producer Sam Moor has reassured fans that the show isn’t going anywhere and will be back for another season.

During an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, Moor explained:

“It’s not the end for Bluey. We’ve got lots more surprises in store,” adding, “We’re already brainstorming what’s next.”

The next big thing is episode 50 of season three, titled “Surprise!”. While details are scarce, we know it will feature Bingo and Bluey trying to get Dad to play two different games at the same time. The release date, however, is still up in the air.

Will there be a break for Bluey after season 3?

While fans are probably thrilled to hear that Bluey isn’t coming to an end just yet, the creators have confirmed they’ll be taking a break after season three.

“We just need some time to rest and reset,” producer Daley Pearson said in an interview with The Courier Mail back in 2023 (via The Bump).

“After four or five years and 154 episodes, it’s pretty rare to keep that pace going without a break.”

He explained:

“It’s been pretty intense… We’re finishing up season three and really thinking about how we can make the next season even better.”

“We’ve all agreed that we wouldn’t continue Bluey unless we could maintain the same level of quality, so we’re focused on keeping that standard.”

“Part of it is about not rushing back. We’re taking a break; the more we stress about when season four will start, the longer it’ll take, which is why I’m hesitant to talk about it too much.”

While this might be disappointing for fans eager for more Bluey, they can take comfort knowing that when the show returns, it’ll be just as good—if not better—than before.

When is Bluey coming back for Bluey season 4?

The good news is that, as reported by the LA Times, production on Bluey season three was completed back in April 2022. Then, in July 2023, it was revealed that the creators would be taking a break.

Given that it’s been two years since the team last worked on the show, there’s reason to believe production for season four could kick off later this year.

If everything goes smoothly, Bluey could be back by 2025, which isn’t too far away.

In the meantime, if you’re missing the Heeler family, you can bring the fun to your kitchen with the new Bluey Gousto range, featuring activities inspired by the show for both you and your little ones to enjoy.
